June 27 Study Group Session: Genocide, Ecocide, and Femicide in Kurdistan
Join us on June 27th (12pm ET / 9am PT) for the second session of our summer study group series Colonization of Kurdistan: History, Political Economy, Gender, which ECR is co-hosting with our friends at City Kurds and the Kurdish Gender Studies Network. The topic of our July session is Genocide, Ecocide, and Femicide in Kurdistan.
This month we will be discussing genocides against Kurdish peoples across broader Kurdistan. We start with an introduction to an edited volume that lays out genocidal violence in different parts of Kurdistan. We will look into Dersim and Anfal genocides, and also discuss dynamics of ecocide and femicide.

Kaziwa Salih: Introduction to Kurdish Genocides
An edited volume by Kaziwa Salih, laying out historical episodes of genocidal violence in different parts of Kurdistan, while touching on different aspects of genocidal violence, such as linguicide and ecocide.

Analyzing examples of genocidal state violence against Kurds in North Kurdistan (Bakur) and South Kurdistan (Başur).
