An AANES/SDC delegation will travel to Washington, DC in mid-September for talks regarding the US' relationship with NES. The talks were reportedly initiated by US Central Command General Kenneth McKenzie & Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Joey Hood.

An inside source revealed that Turkey will be at the top of the agenda for the talks, including possible sanctions against Turkey for violating the US CAATSA Law by buying Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missiles.

Meanwhile, SDF Chair Mazloum Abdi has expressed cautious optimism about the AANES' relationship with the Biden Administration, saying that they now feel that they have "stronger political and military support, more than we got from the previous administration."

He also revealed that American officials told him that "there will be no changes in Syria" in the aftermath of the US' withdrawal from Afghanistan.
