HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, a health official of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) described  the new coronavirus infections in the AANES areas as the “balanced” so far, warning of data that indicates the increase of the infections in the coming days.

Earlier today, the AANES announced the recording of 54 new coronavirus infections in its regions.

Jiwan Mustafa, co-chair of the Health Board of the AANES said that the graph of the infections has risen after being stable for a while.

“The current situation is similar to the beginning of the previous waves of the infection, as the infections started to increase, but the situation has not reached a serious stage yet,” he added.

Mustafa pointed out that they have not found any coronavirus mutation because they do not have the laboratory capabilities to detect it.

The official pointed out that it is possible for them to take preventative procedures such as preventing gatherings, closing border crossings or even imposing partial lockdown if there are more infections.
