On Tuesday, an attack by Turkish armed forces on civilian homes near Syria’s Ain Issa killed four and injured two people all from the same family.

A private military source told North Press that between two and three in the morning on Tuesday, a Turkish tank bombarded a civilian home in the village of Safawi, east of Ain Issa. The shelling killed four members of the same family: 54-year-old Zidan Khalaf al-Issa, 12-year-old Ziyad al-Issa, Muna Khalaf al-Issa, and Huda Khalaf al-Issa.

Two others, including a one-year-old girl and her mother from the same family, were critically wounded and brought to the hospital in the city of Raqqa for treatment.

Turkish armed forces and their affiliated armed opposition groups have regularly bombed and attempted to infiltrate Ain Issa and its surroundings since last year. Ain Issa sits along the M4 Highway, on the front lines between the SDF and Turkish-backed armed groups.
